Local School Turns Vision Into Food:
Last week Smithville Covenant Christian School Students Council organized a food drive with a twist. Each class room was given one word of the school’s vision statement. They were then challenged to use non-perishable food items to fill in the letters of that word. The students picked up the challenge and by the end of the week approximately 600 items filled the words “Living for Jesus, Learning for Life, Serving With Gladness”. At the end of the week, the entire school gathered outside to sing a few songs and to have a picture snapped from atop the school’s roof.. (See attached pdf file) “It was a heartening response by the students,” said Heather DeBoer, a parent of three Covenant students, “and I think they more than tripled last year’s contributions!”
